As the New Year approaches, in order to better prevent and control the epidemic, my community cadres called on community members to take the initiative to sign up for voluntary service activities. Their main job is to monitor the body temperature of people entering the community, and each shift is 2 hours. In order to pass on the spirit of volunteerism and dedication, I also signed up for this volunteer service activity.
At noon on January 27, I received a notice from the community cadres to arrange for me to be on duty at the gate of the community from 18:00 to 20:00 on the same day, responsible for monitoring the body temperature of the people entering the community. After I got off work that day, because the community was close to the company, there were more than 20 minutes before the handover point when I arrived at the gate of the community. It was a middle-aged man in the community who was in charge of handing over the shift to me. To my surprise, his two children were also on duty at the door. The temperature was very low that day and the wind was still blowing. I saw his two children standing upright in the cold wind, their childish little faces were full of solemnity, as if they were raising the national flag. Watching the middle-aged man take the temperature of the people entering the community one by one, not afraid of the cold, while the two little volunteers politely remind people to take the temperature, the crisp voice of the child sounds from time to time, I can't help but stand in awe. When the shift was over, I asked the middle-aged man who was in charge of the shift, “How can I bring my child out to be a volunteer? Is it cold weather so cold?” The middle-aged man smiled and said, “I originally left the child at home. I stayed, but when they heard that I was going to be a volunteer, they had to follow and couldn't stop them. However, being a volunteer is not only an exercise for children, but also an unforgettable life experience. Let them experience it. That’s okay. Besides, when I go out, I have already asked the child to wear thick clothes. The time on duty is not too long. I don’t think I will catch a cold for only two hours.” Out of concern, I squatted down and asked the child, “Standing guard” Are you tired on duty?", "Not tired, the teacher said to be a volunteer is the most glorious, I will always be a volunteer!" Listening to the children's innocent answers, looking at their blushing faces, people sighed, and right. The father of the child admires him.
The child has a very pure heart because of his inexperience in the world, like an uncultivated pure land. If you want your children to be caring, parents should take the lead in taking caring actions. Teaching by example is undoubtedly the most persuasive method of education. Therefore, as a parent, we must lead by example, and at the same time we educate our children about love, we must also use our own behavior to educate the children and play a demonstrative role. Only in this way can we infect the hearts of the children and cultivate their love.
